In the 2024-25 school year, Rockdale County High School enrolled 1,623 African American students, which represented a 2.1% decrease compared with the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

The school registered a total enrollment of 2,287 in the 2024-25 school year. African American students accounted for 71% of the enrollment, making them the largest demographic group.

Chronic absenteeism continues to be a significant challenge in Georgia schools following the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing 10% or more days in 2024, according to the Georgia Department of Education. To address this, the department launched a sweep of measures, including a real-time attendance dashboard, an awareness effort, and targeted support for districts facing high need.

Lawmakers in Georgia updated the state’s school attendance law in 2025, prohibiting expulsion solely for absenteeism. The revised legislation also introduces reporting requirements and coordinates with programs that provide alternate diploma options for students.

By 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio reached about 14:1, lower than the national figure of 15:1.
