The Atlanta Dream, in collaboration with Cash App and Playa Society, has unveiled a unique WNBA statement court. This initiative aims to empower female athletes and will debut at the Dream’s home opener against the Indiana Fever on May 22 at State Farm Arena. The court features the phrase “Pay Some Respect to Women’s Sports” prominently displayed at center court. After the game, the court will be donated to a local youth organization to inspire young girls.

The empowerment message will also appear on team practice jerseys and is available for fans through a retail collaboration with Playa Society. The partnership between the Dream and Cash App seeks to redefine traditional sports sponsorship by focusing on women’s basketball culture, community, financial equity, and empowerment.

Morgan Shaw Parker, President & COO of Atlanta Dream, stated, “Atlanta Dream, Cash App and Playa Society have shared values with a commitment to pushing women’s sports forward and this unprecedented court design and retail collection is just the beginning.” She emphasized that paying respect to women’s sports is central to their partnership.

Cash App cardholders attending the game will enjoy special benefits including a halftime performance and discounts on merchandise. Catherine Ferdon, Cash App CMO, remarked on the bold statement made by placing such a message on the court: “Cash App is thrilled to elevate women’s sports and champion financial inclusion while investing in the Atlanta community.”

Playa Society founder Esther Wallace has been promoting representation for women in sports since 2018 through bold streetwear designs. The new collection created with Cash App combines Playa Society’s aesthetic with Cash App’s brand palette.

Fans can purchase gear from playasociety.com or at the Atlanta Dream retail store. The home opener will be broadcast nationally on Amazon Prime and locally on Peachtree TV.
