The Atlanta Falcons announced on Mar. 13 that they have signed linebacker Channing Tindall to a one-year contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Tindall was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft and played three seasons with the team, appearing in 44 games primarily as a special teams contributor. He later joined the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad and continued in a similar role during the 2025 season. Over the past three seasons, Tindall has played more than half of his snaps on special teams.
When Tindall was selected by Miami, then-general manager Chris Grier said, “In talking to (Georgia head coach) Kirby Smart the other day again about him, he was just talking about what tremendous speed and toughness and the character of the kid and how Kirby really loved (Tindall) and thinks he’s going to be a really good player in the NFL.”
The start of the new league year at 4 p.m. Wednesday allowed teams like Atlanta to officially sign free agents and finalize trades. The Falcons compete in the National Football League’s NFC South division according to their official website.
The franchise is based in Atlanta, Georgia according to its official website, and began as an expansion team in 1965 according to its official website. The team has advanced to two Super Bowls—in 1998 and 2016—and features Freddie the Falcon as its mascot according to its official website.
Looking ahead, fans can follow updates on free agency moves through the team’s tracker as Atlanta continues preparations for the upcoming season.
