The Columbus State Cougars, with former Union Grove High School standout Nadea Smith on their roster, were defeated 85-73 by the Carson-Newman Eagles in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 13.

The first-round game against the Carson-Newman Eagles was held at B. Frank Tex Turner Arena at 7:30 p.m.
