Rep. Mike Collins, a U.S. Congress member representing Georgia’s 10th district since 2023, has been actively sharing his thoughts and activities on social media. Collins, who succeeded Jody Hice, was born in Jackson, Georgia in 1967 and graduated from Georgia State University in 1990.
On June 16, 2025, Collins expressed gratitude towards Governor Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon for hosting him at La Fortaleza. He shared that they had “a great discussion on policies that will benefit Puerto Rico and all of America.” The congressman emphasized the need to “streamline federal permitting, reform NEPA, and implement tort reform” to advance national infrastructure efforts. “Thank you Governor Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon for hosting me at La Fortaleza for a great discussion on policies that will benefit Puerto Rico and all of America. We need to streamline federal permitting, reform NEPA, and implement tort reform to get this country building again.”
In a brief post dated June 17, 2025, Collins simply stated: “Trust the plan.” This message was posted without additional context or elaboration.
Later that day on June 17th, he marked an event from American history by recalling the low-speed police chase involving O.J. Simpson in Los Angeles back in 1994. He noted the chase’s specifics with the words: “On this day in history in 1994, O.J. Simpson led police on a low-speed, 35-mph chase for an hour through Los Angeles in a white Ford Bronco.”
