The Atlanta Falcons have signed edge rusher Ronnie Perkins, the team announced Monday. The move follows a series of roster changes, including the release of wide receiver D.J. Chark and the waiving/injuring of quarterback Emory Jones. Earlier in the day, the Falcons also added quarterback Ben DiNucci.
Perkins was originally selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He made his NFL debut in 2023 with the Denver Broncos, appearing in seven games and recording 13 tackles along with one quarterback hit.
Last season, Perkins spent a month on injured reserve before being released by Denver. He then joined the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad.
Earlier this year, Perkins played for the Birmingham Stallions in the United Football League (UFL), where he appeared in five games and recorded 17 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
The Falcons are preparing for their final preseason game on Friday against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. ET.
