The Atlanta Falcons have made significant roster changes, releasing defensive back Kevin King and placing three players on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list. The announcement was made Thursday afternoon.

The players placed on the NFI list are defensive lineman LaCale London, inside linebacker Malik Verdon, and cornerback Cobee Bryant. Despite being on this list, they will still be counted in the Falcons’ 90-man roster during training camp. These players were absent from the team’s first open practice held earlier that day.

Kevin King, a veteran player initially signed by the Falcons last offseason and re-signed this year, has been released. He was an important reserve for the defense and played regularly on special teams in 2024. Last season, he participated in all but two games, starting one of them. His contributions included 10 tackles, two pass breakups, and a fumble recovery.

LaCale London spent last season with the Falcons’ practice squad before signing a future/reserve contract at the end of the season. His last active participation for Atlanta was in 2023 when he played seven games and recorded 13 tackles.

Malik Verdon and Cobee Bryant joined as undrafted free agents this year but have not yet played in an NFL game.

Additionally, inside linebacker Troy Andersen has been placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. This move was announced by Falcons head coach Raheem Morris before practice began.
