Rep. Mike Collins, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 10th district since 2023, shared several tweets on July 3, 2025, covering topics from historical events to personal reflections.
In his first tweet of the day, Rep. Collins commemorated a significant moment in American history. He stated “On this day in history in 1775, George Washington rode out in front of the troops in Massachusetts and drew his sword, formally taking command of the Continental Army.” This tweet highlights Washington’s background as a Virginia planter and veteran of the French and Indian War before he was appointed commander.
Later that day, Rep. Collins posted a light-hearted message about success and food preferences. He wrote “When you’re winning, you eat like a winner.”
In another post, Collins humorously expressed his struggle with staying awake during a speech. He tweeted “I’ve been doing fine staying awake since 5am Wednesday morning until this guy started talking. Snooze fest!”
Mike Collins has been serving in Congress since replacing Jody Hice in 2023. Born in Jackson, Georgia in 1967, he graduated from Georgia State University with a BA in 1990.
