Rep. Mike Collins, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 10th district since 2023, shared his thoughts on historical and contemporary issues through a series of tweets on May 10, 2025.

In a tweet posted at 11:31 AM, Collins reflected on the passage of the Tea Act in 1773 by Britain. He noted that this legislation allowed the British East India Company to avoid bankruptcy by selling tea directly to American colonies at a reduced price due to their lowered tax burden from the British government.

Later that day, at 12:14 PM, Collins commented on international relations and security, stating, “Strong leadership ends wars. The world is a safer place with American strength.”

In another post at 10:35 PM, he posed a question regarding urban aesthetics, asking if others were interested in replacing “the atrocity in Times Square” with an unspecified alternative.

Mike Collins was born in Jackson, Georgia in 1967 and graduated from Georgia State University with a BA in 1990. He succeeded Jody Hice as the representative for Georgia’s 10th district.
