Mike Collins responds to Fort Stewart incident with messages of support

U.S. Representative Mike Collins, who serves Georgia’s 10th district in Congress, addressed the recent events at Fort Stewart through a series of posts on his social media account on August 6, 2025.

In his initial post at 16:12 UTC, Collins called for support for those involved, writing, “As we wait for more information, please join me in praying for the soldiers and first responders at Fort Stewart today.”

Later that afternoon, after the situation developed further, Collins updated followers with another message at 17:36 UTC: “Thankful the lockdown has been lifted at Fort Stewart and praying for our five wounded soldiers and their families.

Thank you also to the first responders on base and medical personnel who swiftly and valiantly acted to save lives and end the threat. As the investigation”

In a subsequent post made at 19:20 UTC, he added a brief comment referencing logistical support: “More trucks available if needed. Know a guy. https://t.co/bLhzJdR4Th”

Fort Stewart is an active U.S. Army installation located in Georgia. The incident referenced by Rep. Collins led to a temporary lockdown of the base before authorities announced it had been lifted later in the day.

Mike Collins has served as U.S. Representative since replacing Jody Hice in 2023. He was elected after defeating Tabitha Johnson-Green in 2022 and Lexy Doherty in 2024 general elections.
