Rep. Mike Collins, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 10th district since 2023, posted several tweets between July 17 and July 18, 2025, addressing issues ranging from border security to historical political events.
On July 17, Collins referenced comments by fellow Congressman Austin Scott in a tweet questioning Democratic immigration policies: “How many children got raped coming across the border because of what the Democratic party did?” He added, “@AustinScottGA08 bringing the heat!”
Later that evening, on July 18, Collins commented on filmmaker James Cameron’s accolades with a brief post: “James Cameron won an Oscar for this.”
The following morning, he marked an anniversary related to Senator Ted Kennedy: “On this day in history in 1969, Senator Ted Kennedy drove his car off a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island, killing 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne, who was trapped inside the vehicle. Kennedy escaped but failed to report the accident for 10 hours. He tried to rescue Kopechne and”
Collins has served as Georgia’s representative since replacing Jody Hice in Congress in 2023. Born in Jackson, Georgia in 1967 and currently residing there at age 55, Collins earned his BA from Georgia State University in 1990.
