Rep. Mike Collins, who represents Georgia’s 10th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of historical and policy-related statements on his social media account between August 18 and August 20, 2025.

On August 18, Collins addressed the issue of commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) and language requirements for truck drivers. He wrote: “Not a single illegal alien should have a CDL, and we need to get the ones who do off the road and out of the country. It’s also imperative that all truck drivers drivers speak the language of the United States, which is why I’m proud to be working with @RepDaveTaylor on Connor’s https://t.co/EZdfNDHpP6”.

The following day, Collins reflected on a historical event involving U.S. foreign policy in Iran. On August 19, he posted: “On this day in history in 1953, the Iranian military, with the support of the CIA, orchestrated a coup to overthrow Premier Mohammad Mosaddeq to reinstate the Shah of Iran. The CIA, collaborating with British intelligence, made a plan to remove Mosaddeq, despite his efforts to https://t.co/UGmIBRQ4vY”.

On August 20, Collins shared another historical note about Leon Trotsky: “On this day in history in 1940, Leon Trotsky, the exiled Russian revolutionary, was fatally injured by an ice-ax-wielding assassin working for Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, at his home in Mexico. Trotsky, born in Ukraine, became a leading Marxist revolutionary and key figure in https://t.co/MlLkCus7IZ”.

Collins began serving as Georgia’s 10th district representative after succeeding Jody Hice in 2023. He won reelection against Lexy Doherty in 2024 with over sixty percent of the vote and previously defeated Tabitha Johnson-Green in 2022 by a similar margin.
