Rep. Mike Collins, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for Georgia’s 10th district, posted a series of messages on his social media account in mid-August 2025 addressing both national politics and historical events.

On August 14, 2025, Collins wrote, “It’s time to clean up DC!” The following day, he commemorated a significant moment in world history by posting: “On this day in history in 1945, Japan surrendered to the Allies, ending World War II.

Collins has served in Congress since replacing Jody Hice in 2023 as representative for Georgia’s 10th district. He secured his seat after defeating Tabitha Johnson-Green in the 2022 general election with approximately 64.5% of the vote and was re-elected in 2024 against Lexy Doherty with about 63.1% of the vote.
