Rep. Mike Collins, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 10th district, shared his views on recent economic and legal developments through a series of tweets on July 8, 2025.

In a tweet posted at 13:02 UTC, Rep. Collins commented on the state of the stock market by stating “And the stock market is still roaring. The Trump economy is here.” This reflects his perspective on the current economic conditions under former President Trump’s policies.

Later that day, at 14:26 UTC, he addressed a legal ruling involving an illegal alien convicted of murder. He tweeted “A judge has ruled that the illegal alien convicted of killing Laken Riley will now undergo mental health evaluation to see if he was competent to stand trial.” He expressed strong opinions about the case by stating, “He’s guilty. He murdered that poor girl, and there is no doubt that he knew what he was doing.”

At 15:35 UTC, Rep. Collins reported on arrests related to an alleged plot against ICE officers. He stated “10 members of Antifa have been arrested for planning an ambush against ICE officers on July 4th.” The tweet further detailed that “They showed up with rifles and used fireworks to lure agents out,” resulting in one officer being shot in the neck. Collins questioned when Democratic officials would condemn such violence.

Mike Collins has served in Congress since replacing Jody Hice in 2023 and holds a BA from Georgia State University.
