Rep. Mike Collins, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 10th district since 2023, recently posted several comments on social media covering national security and historical events.

On August 5, 2025, Collins stated: “Georgia is safer because of Donald Trump’s policies.” On August 6, he reflected on the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima by posting: “On this day in history in 1945, the United States dropped the first atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima in Japan. The U.S. began developing nuclear weapons in 1940 after learning Germany was doing the same. Although Germany was defeated before the bomb was ready, the war with”. Later that same day, Collins commented on an Associated Press headline with: “AP: Won’t someone PLEASE think of the terrorists?!”

Collins has served in Congress since defeating Lexy Doherty in the 2024 general election with 63.1% of the vote and previously won against Tabitha Johnson-Green in 2022 with a similar margin. He succeeded Jody Hice as representative for Georgia’s 10th district.
