Rep. Mike Collins, who represents Georgia’s 10th district in the U.S. Congress, made several statements on August 8, 2025, criticizing policies he attributes to urban district attorneys and local governance in Washington, D.C.

In a post published at 14:33 UTC, Collins wrote: “The legacy of blue city DAs and their refusal to put career criminals in jail. https://t.co/MgWtafpBV2”.

Later that day at 15:54 UTC, Collins posted another statement: “Not tired of winning. https://t.co/4CBJLCKlBa”.

At 17:47 UTC, he addressed the issue of self-governance for Washington, D.C., stating: “Home Rule” is a disaster and should be repealed.

Washington, D.C. is our nation’s capital. It doesn’t belong to the few who live there and the politicians they elect. It belongs to all Americans, who should be able to visit without fear of being mugged on the streets.”

Collins has represented Georgia’s 10th congressional district since replacing Jody Hice in 2023. In recent election cycles, he defeated Tabitha Johnson-Green in 2022 with approximately 64.5% of the vote and Lexy Doherty in 2024 with about 63.1%.
