Rep. Mike Collins, who represents Georgia’s 10th district in the U.S. Congress, marked significant historical anniversaries in recent posts on his social media account.
On July 25, 2025, Collins posted about a pivotal event from ancient history: “On this day in history in 306, Constantine I, or Constantine the Great, was declared Roman Emperor. He was the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity. He legalized the religion with the Edict of Milan, ended Christian persecution, and helped shape the early Church.” (July 25, 2025).
Later that same day, he shared a post featuring only an American flag emoji: “” (July 25, 2025).
The following morning on July 26, Collins highlighted a major development in modern American history: “On this day in history in 1947, President Truman signed the National Security Act, creating the CIA, National Security Council, and Department of Defense. It established an agency for covert operations, centralized intelligence for the President, and unified the military” (July 26, 2025).
Collins began serving as representative for Georgia’s 10th congressional district after succeeding Jody Hice in 2023. In recent elections he has won by substantial margins—defeating Tabitha Johnson-Green in 2022 and Lexy Doherty in 2024.
