Rep. Mike Collins, U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 10th district, posted a series of messages on his Twitter account on August 8 and 9, 2025, addressing recent events and expressing condolences.

On August 8, Collins wrote, “May this American hero rest in peace.” Later that day, he addressed a developing situation at Emory University with the message: “Students at Emory please take cover. Praying for a swift end to this threat.”

The following day, Collins expressed sympathy for law enforcement after a loss in the community: “Leigh Ann and I are praying for this brave officer’s family and the law enforcement community as we all mourn the loss of this valiant public servant.”

Collins has served in Congress since replacing Jody Hice in 2023. He secured his seat by defeating Tabitha Johnson-Green in the 2022 general election and Lexy Doherty in the 2024 general election.
