Rep. Mike Collins, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Georgia’s 10th district, recently shared a series of tweets touching on varied topics. Collins, who took office in 2023 following Jody Hice’s tenure, frequently engages with his constituents on social media.
On May 4, 2025, Collins cited a scriptural reference from the Gospel of Luke, posting a quote to capture its essence: “‘Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ‘Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!’” — Luke 19:38.
The following day, Collins extended a motivational message to ICE agents, wishing them well on their duties. He wrote, “Good morning! Have fun and happy hunting to all of our ICE agents out there today.” This was posted on May 5, 2025.
Also on May 5, 2025, Collins commemorated a milestone in American space exploration by acknowledging Navy Commander Alan Shepard’s historic achievement. He reminded his followers that “On this day in history in 1961, Navy Commander Alan Shepard became the first American in space aboard the Freedom 7 capsule, completing a 15-minute suborbital flight that reached 116 miles high.” He emphasized NASA’s competitive spirit during this era of the space race.
Currently living in his hometown of Jackson, Georgia, Mike Collins is a Georgia State University graduate and continues to play an active role in his community.
