Rep. Mike Collins, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 10th district since 2023, posted a series of tweets on July 19, 2025, addressing topics ranging from the legacy of Ed Feulner to historical events and current political commentary.
In his first tweet of the day, Collins reflected on the passing of Ed Feulner, former president of The Heritage Foundation: “Ed Feulner was a champion for a free, prosperous, and safe America. Though his guidance will be missed, his vision and life work will live through The @Heritage Foundation for decades to come.” (July 19, 2025).
Later that morning, Collins referenced an event from ancient history: “On this day in history in 64, a massive fire swept through Emperor Nero’s Rome. It raged for three days, completely destroying three of the city’s 14 districts, with only four left untouched. Hundreds were killed and thousands were left homeless. Legend says Nero played the” (July 19, 2025).
In the afternoon, he made a brief statement on immigration policy: “It’s a great day for mass deportations.” (July 19, 2025).
Collins was born in Jackson, Georgia in 1967 and has resided there throughout his life. He graduated from Georgia State University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Before entering Congress in 2023—succeeding Jody Hice—he established himself as an active figure within his local community.
The Heritage Foundation is a conservative think tank based in Washington D.C., known for its influence on American public policy since its founding in 1973.
