Rep. Mike Collins, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 10th district since 2023, posted a series of messages on his official Twitter account on July 16, 2025, reflecting on historical events and current affairs.

In one post from early that morning, Collins wrote: “Baghdad Bigbird hardest hit.” (July 16, 2025).

Later in the day, he marked the anniversary of a significant event involving a prominent American political family. He stated: “On this day in history in 1999, John F. Kennedy Jr. was killed in a plane crash off the coast of Martha’s vineyard.

He was piloting the plane to a family wedding with his wife, Carolyn, and her sister on board. Kennedy had been expected to run against Hillary Clinton in New” (July 16, 2025).

In another message posted that afternoon, Collins referenced his recent tenure in office: “100 days of keeping America free and fair. Pedal down! “ (July 16, 2025).

Collins has represented Georgia’s 10th congressional district since succeeding Jody Hice in January 2023. Born in Jackson, Georgia in 1967 and currently residing there at age 55, Collins graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990.
