Rep. Mike Collins, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 10th District since 2023, recently posted a series of statements on social media reflecting on historical events, current policy issues, and religious texts.

On July 12, 2025, Rep. Collins highlighted a milestone in American infrastructure history: “On this day in history in 1954, President Eisenhower developed a plan for an interstate highway system. President Eisenhower, inspired by Germany’s autobahns, pushed for a U.S. highway system to support growing traffic and national defense. He tasked governors with helping plan”.

Later that day, he addressed concerns about state spending related to immigration policy: “State taxpayer dollars are being used to support illegal immigrants detained by federal law enforcement officers. California is lost.”

On July 13, 2025, Rep. Collins shared a biblical passage from the Book of James: “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you…” — James 4:7-8

Mike Collins was born in Jackson, Georgia in 1967 and continues to reside there. He earned his BA from Georgia State University in 1990 and succeeded Jody Hice as representative for Georgia’s 10th district.
