Rep. Mike Collins, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 10th district since 2023, used his social media account on March 17, 2026, to comment on recent legislative developments and local events.
In a post published at 17:21 UTC, Collins stated, “I am proud to have cosponsored the SAVE America Act, which passed the House, but it can’t stop there. Today, this important legislation is being considered on the Senate floor. America’s elections must be secure. Pass the SAVE America Act.”
Later that day at 19:58 UTC, Collins addressed opposition from two Georgia senators by writing, “Senators Ossoff and Warnock are against the SAVE America Act and against their constituents. A majority of Georgia Democrats, Republicans, and Independents support election integrity.”
At 21:13 UTC on the same day, Collins commented on an incident in Pickens County: “We are saddened to hear of a shooting at the Jasper VA Clinic in Pickens County. Please join us in praying for our first responders and all those impacted.”
Collins was elected to Congress after defeating Lexy Doherty in the 2024 general election with over 63% of the vote and previously won against Tabitha Johnson-Green in 2022 with more than 64% support. He replaced Jody Hice as representative for Georgia’s 10th district beginning in 2023. Born in Jackson, Georgia in 1967 and currently residing there, Collins graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990.
