Rockdale County authorities announced on Mar. 24 that Justin Lamont Driskell of Stonecrest, Georgia, was arrested following a multi-month narcotics investigation led by the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit. The arrest took place during a traffic stop conducted by troopers from the Georgia State Patrol’s Criminal Interdiction Unit and K9, with no reported incident.

The investigation involved undercover officers conducting controlled buys in Rockdale County, which resulted in multiple warrants for Driskell’s arrest. In addition to the arrest, search warrants were obtained for three locations within the Wesley Providence Apartment complex in Stonecrest that were associated with Driskell.

To secure these locations, the Vice/Narcotics Unit requested assistance from the DeKalb Police SWAT team and DKPD Aviation unit. Investigators from the unit were present at each site to conduct searches pursuant to issued warrants.

Driskell is currently being held at the Rockdale County Jail and faces several charges including four counts of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one count of possession of drug related objects, and one count of possession of a firearm during commission of certain crimes.

During execution of the search warrants at one apartment, a man and woman found inside were briefly detained but later released after investigators determined they had no involvement in Driskell’s activities.
