Abbotts Hill Elementary School issued the following announcement on Jan. 28
As we continue to communicate updates and/or changes to COVID-related protocols within the district, maintaining face-to-face instruction is a top priority for our district and we intend to stay open provided we have the staff to safely operate our schools. To mitigate the current spread of COVID-19, all schools will follow the items below for the week of January 31-February 4:
Protocols for athletics and extracurricular activities:
- Screening questions and temperature checks for athletics and extracurricular activities will stop.
- Report only positive COVID-19 cases for athletes and students to the portal. FCS will no longer investigate exposures.
- Parental and staff exposure notification letters will only be sent out if a cluster exists. FCS will no longer send a letter out for every positive athlete.
- Indoor capacity limitations increase to 50%.
- Fulton County Schools continues contact tracing for positive cases.
- After school care and extended learning continues.
- Staff waiting for a COVID-19 test result can report to work wearing a mask if they are asymptomatic.
- Essential academic field trips continue.
- Third party facility rentals continue.
- Masks are optional in all district schools and buildings.
- Following federal guidelines, masks are required on buses and school transportation.
- Please do not come to school/work if you are sick.
- We strongly encourage families to participate in vaccination and testing opportunities.
- Please follow public health guidelines and report any COVID-19 related cases to the Employee or Parent portals.
