Abbotts Hill Elementary School recently issued the following announcement.
Fulton County Schools is proud to announce 306 middle and high school music students were selected to represent the district at the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) All-State weekend. Ninety-three music students made the 2022 All-State Band, 66 students made the All-State Chorus, and 147 students made the All-State Orchestra.
Selected students participated in multiple rounds of rigorous auditions between October and January, competing against the best student musicians throughout the state and performing musical selections using prepared material and sight reading.

"These students will perform with the top musicians around the state led by nationally renowned conductors. Our All-State students are great representatives of the outstanding music programs throughout Fulton County Schools, recognized by the NAMM Foundation as a Best Community for Music Education."
Selected students will participate in a GMEA sponsored All-State Chorus event February 17-19, 2022, and the All-State Band & Orchestra event March 3-5, 2022, at the Classic Center in Athens, Georgia.
