Emory University-Oxford College issued the following announcement on Feb 18
The Emory Oxford men's tennis team won their second straight match, defeating the Panthers of LaGrange College 8-1. They improve their record to 2-3.
The Eagles dominated doubles play, winning all three flights. Freshmen Zachary Ravel and Jahaan Sachdeva defeated their opponents 8-4 on court one, while classmates Ryan Talano and Tyler Yamato-Chang claimed an impressive 8-0 victory on court two. On court three, freshmen Alexander Syzmanski and Anders Orr won 8-2.
Singles play was the same story as the Eagles won five out of six, all of which came in straight sets. Ravel won on court one, 6-0, 6-0, while doubles teammate Jahaan won on court three 6-3, 6-0. Yamato-Chang defeated his opponent 7-5, 6-1 on court two and Talano won on court five 6-1, 6-0. Freshman Mark Li claimed a victory on court six 6-1, 6-0.
Up next, the Eagles will face the Lions of Piedmont University on Friday (Feb. 25) at 3:00 PM.
