Piedmont Athens Regional has been named to Newsweek’s list of Best Maternity Hospitals 2022. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The awards list was announced on May 11, 2022 and can currently be viewed on Newsweek’s website.
Newsweek and Statista developed a complex methodology to ensure the quality and validity of the ranking. Three data sources were used for the evaluation:
- Nationwide online survey: hospital managers and health care professionals with knowledge about maternity processes e.g. Midwives, neonatal and OB/GYNs were asked to recommend leading maternity hospitals in the US
- Medical KPIs on hospitals with a focus on indicators relevant to maternity care
- Results from patient surveys
Piedmont Athens Regional is ecstatic to be recognized on Newsweek’s list of Best Maternity Hospitals 2022.
“To be recognized as a Best Maternity Hospital by Newsweek and Statista is a tremendous honor,” said Jeremiah Bame, chief nursing officer for Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center. “This award is a testament to the compassionate care our staff provides for women delivering at Piedmont Athens and their babies.”
