The City of Douglas, Georgia proposes to institute annexation and zoning upon annexation proceedings by using the 100% method, to enlarge and extend the boundary limits of said city to include the following described territory, to-wit:
All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in Land Lot No. 147 of the 6th Land District of Coffee County, Georgia and partially within The City of Douglas, consisting of 4.33 acres, and being more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the point of intersection of the northern right of way line of George Drive with the western right of way line of Bowens Mill Road/ Ga. State Route 206 and having Ga. 1983 State Plane coordinates of North 545910.40 East 435702.72, thence running along said right of way of George Drive North 89°44'22" West for a distance of 350.24 feet to a point along said right of way; thence North 89°40'18" West a distance of 82.93 feet to a point along said right of way; thence North 89°40'18" West a distance of 277.67 feet to a point along said right of way and the point of beginning; thence North 89°40'18" West a distance of 325.00 feet to a point located along said right of way; thence running North 00⁰48'32" East a distance of 724.80 feet to a point; thence running North 81°43'02" East a distance of 185.53 feet to a point; thence South 09°52'38" East a distance of 764.65 feet to the Point of Beginning.
Said tract of land is as shown on a plat prepared by Statewide Surveying Company dated September 21, 2022.
A public hearing will be held by and before the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Douglas, Georgia on Monday, the 13th day of February, 2023 at 6 o’clock p.m. in the C. E. Weir Center 307 E Bryan Street Douglas, GA 31533. Anyone interested in the above proposed annexation should be in appearance at the said meeting on the above-stated date. At said time and place all such persons shall have the right to appear and be heard. Of all said matters and things, all persons interested in the things and matters herein mentioned, will take notice. Based on the completion of construction at the new City Hall, the location for any regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Commission may change to 302 S. Madison Avenue.
