His commitment to Louisiana State University underscores his academic aspirations alongside his athletic career. During his time at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, he led the team to its first state title since 2011 by pitching a two-hitter in the championship game against Canyon del Oro High School.
In the recent season, Caminiti's performance was stellar: he maintained a record of 9-0 with an ERA of just 0.93 over 52⅔ innings pitched while striking out 119 batters. Offensively, he also excelled with a batting average of .493.
