The Atlanta Dream has signed Holly Winterburn to a training camp contract. Winterburn, hailing from Northampton, England, stands at 5-foot-11 and is recognized for her achievements as a three-time WBBL Young Player of the Year and as a 2024 EuroCup Women Champion. Her international experience includes representing Great Britain in several FIBA competitions, where she was named to the All-Star Five at the U20 European Championships. Recently, she played for Beşiktaş JK in Turkey’s Super League following her success with the London Lions.
"Holly is a versatile guard with extensive professional and international experience," said Atlanta Dream General Manager Dan Padover. "We’re excited to see her compete at this level."
Winterburn's collegiate career included playing for the University of Oregon before returning to excel in the Women's British Basketball League (WBBL). The Atlanta Dream's training camp is set to begin in April as they prepare for the upcoming 2025 WNBA season. The team's regular season will commence on May 16 against the Washington Mystics at Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C., starting at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Atlanta Dream was established in 2008 and remains the only WNBA franchise based in the Southeast region. Home games are held at Gateway Center Arena @ College Park, with broadcasts available locally on Peachtree TV and across Georgia via Peachtree Sports Network. Since its inception, the team has produced multiple WNBA All-Stars and achieved notable successes including three first-place finishes in regular seasons and three appearances in WNBA finals.
