The NFL has suspended Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison for the first three games of the 2025 season due to a violation of the league’s Substances of Abuse Policy. As a result, Addison will not be available for the Vikings’ Week 2 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Addison has become an important part of Minnesota’s offense, serving as a key complement to top receiver Justin Jefferson. Over the past three seasons, Addison has recorded 28 receptions of at least 20 yards and his 19 receiving touchdowns rank him 18th among all players during that span.

The Falcons are expected to adjust their defensive strategy in Addison’s absence by focusing more on Jefferson. Last season, when both receivers played against Atlanta in Week 14, Addison led with 133 yards and three touchdowns on eight catches, while Jefferson contributed 132 yards and two touchdowns on seven receptions. In another matchup in 2023 where Jefferson was unavailable, Atlanta limited Addison to 52 yards on five catches.

The upcoming four-game stretch is significant for Atlanta before their early bye in Week 5. The Vikings remain a challenging opponent at home, but Addison’s suspension is likely to affect Minnesota’s offensive options.
