2021-22 Athletic COVID Protocols

With respect to the ever-changing guidelines and landscape surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Athletic Department is constantly reviewing guidance from the AIS COVID Task Force, the GHSA and MAAC schools, the CDC and WHO, as well as many other sporting organizations. Our aim is to continue to provide the most athletic opportunities we can, in a safe and meaningful way.

To that end, we are operating under the current guidelines for the Fall Athletic Season:

Outdoor Sports: Masks Optional for all, social distancing to 3ft as necessary for spectators and athletes

Indoor Sports - Spectators: Masks required for all spectators and 3ft social distancing with bleachers being divided into two sections: AIS and Visitor Team, with the only visitor spectators allowed are immediate family of players/coaches.

Indoor Sports - Teams: Masks required for non-playing athletes and coaches during games and practices, wellness screens required for all, still no community water provided, increased sanitization methods, contact tracing of teams/refs/coaches as they are on campus.

Quarantine guidelines, in conjunction with school guidelines:

*   if you are exposed to a COVID infected person and vaccinated: monitor symptoms but no quarantine as long as you remain symptom-free

*   if you are exposed and unvaccinated: quarantine for 10 days (no test out option)

*   if you test covid positive = regardless of vaccination status or symptoms: isolate for 10 days
