Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 22
Get ready to Rattle, Walk or Run at the 7th Annual Claxton Rattlesnake Run, Saturday, February 26th. Three route options to choose from – 1 mile, 5K, 10k. Whether you are a seasoned runner, new to fitness, or just want to come support a worthwhile cause, the Rattlesnake Run is for YOU! Get Out! Get Active! Have Fun!
Run Headquarters – Claxton Veterans Community Center. Run begins at 9:00 am for all routes. All routes begin and end at the Claxton Veterans Community Center (818 W Main St., Claxton).
Trophies will be awarded to the top female and male runners in the 5k and 10k races. The top finishers in each age category will receive a $15 Dairy Queen gift card. All registered participants will receive a complimentary admission pass to the 54th Annual Claxton Rattlesnake & Wildlife Festival (to be held March 12 & 13).
