The Emory Oxford women's tennis team traveled to Piedmont University to compete in their final spring event. The Eagles defeated the Lions 7-2.
The Eagles claimed one doubles match with sophomore Lara Crosby and freshman Mayuri Charan defeating their opponent 8-2 on court three.
Emory Oxford swept singles play, winning all their matches in straight sets. On court one, freshman Irene Wang won a hard-fought match 6-1, 6-7 (7-5), 1-0 (14-12). Classmate Emily Freestone claimed a 6-3, 6-1 victory on court two. Crosby earned an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory on court three. Freshman Lily McCain competed on court four and won 6-0, 6-1. Charan won on court five 6-2, 7-5 and freshman Allie Lucky won on court six with a score of 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).
This concludes the spring season for the women's tennis team. They won their sixth-straight National Championship back in the fall and will look to defend that title in November.
