Aubrey Blanchard & Kylie Hall Named to Academic All-America Third Team | Emory University Athletic Department

Emory University seniors Aubrey Blanchard and Kylie Hall were named to the Women's Soccer Academic All-America Third Team as presented by the College Sports Communicators, the organization formerly known as CoSIDA, Tuesday afternoon.

Blanchard and Hall are the first Eagles to earn Academic All-America recognition this fall, and are now the 199th and 200th to earn the honor in the history of Emory Athletics. They also become the 15th and 16th members from the women's soccer program to earn Academic All-America acclaim, and the firsts since Shivani Beall in 2019.

Hall was a dynamic offensive performer for the Eagles this past season, leading the team to the NCAA Sweet 16 on the strength of one of the best individual single-seasons by an Emory soccer player in over two decades. Hall rewrote the Emory record books – setting new team records for most assists in a single season (16), assists per game (0.84), most consecutive games with at least one point (9), most consecutive games with an assist (7) and finished the season with 34 points (9G, 16A) – the sixth-best total in a single season in team history and the most by an individual since 2000. Her AAA Third Team honor is the latest of numerous accolades Hall has been bestowed this season, having previously been named to the All-UAA First Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team and was chosen as the UAA Offensive Player of the Year. She carries a 3.99 grade-point average as a Jewish Studies major.

Blanchard joins Hall with her first-ever Academic All-America selection despite missing the final nine games after an ACL injury tragically cut her senior season short. Blanchard was well on her way to a career-best season through the first 10 games, leading the team with eight goals to go along with two assists for 18 points – with her goal and point totals representing career-highs. She finished her Emory career with 18 goals and six assists for 42 points across 48 games and was tabbed as an All-UAA Honorable Mention in 2021. She carries a 4.0 GPA as a nursing major.

The CSC Academic All-America team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be nominated, student-athletes must be a key starter or reserve that has played in at least fifty percent of their team's games, maintain a 3.50 grade point average, be of sophomore standing or higher, and have attended their current institutions for at least one year.
