March 18, 2023 is Natural Gas Utility Workers’ Day and an opportunity to show our appreciation to our Natural Gas Department friends and family at the City.
According to the American Public Gas Association, March 18th was chosen as the date to recognize gas utility workers in honor of the the New London, Texas school incident on March 18, 1937 that led to the widespread odorization of natural gas and an increased emphasis on safety.
Safety is a vital aspect to natural gas distribution and our Natural Gas team keeps the safety of our community and its department at the forefront of their operations. Thank you to each of our dedicated and talented members of the Gas Department…we appreciate you and your tireless efforts to keep our natural gas lines operational and safe!
