Covington Fire Department, Georgia started flushing fire hydrants within the Covington city limits today, April 1, 2023 and will continue with the process through May 2023.

Please be aware flushing can cause the water to be dirty. It may be necessary to run your water for several minutes until it clears up. This controlled procedure is vital to the general maintenance of the City’s water distribution system.  It ensures adequate water flow is available to fire fighters, residents and businesses. Hydrant flushing also improves water quality by clearing iron and other mineral deposits from the water mains.
