Enrollment Analysis: White students comprised 58.6% of Walton County's school districts student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 9,242 white students enrolled in Walton County school districts in the 2022-23 school year, 1.8% less than the previous year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Data showed that Walton County school districts welcomed 15,770 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 58.6% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the county's school districts.

The main offices of all school districts mentioned in the story are located in cities associated with Walton County.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 15:1, which is better than the national average of 16:1. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
