The Atlanta Falcons, in collaboration with the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, are set to enhance their support for high school football in Georgia through two initiatives starting in 2025. These efforts include grants for launching or supporting girls flag football programs and providing up to 50 Guardian Caps per school to bolster health and safety measures.

The Falcons have been instrumental in promoting girls flag football since initiating a pilot program in Gwinnett County back in 2018. This fall saw participation from over 7,000 girls across more than 270 high schools statewide.

Guardian Caps, developed by Erin and Lee Hanson in 2010, serve as soft shell helmet covers designed to reduce impact during hits. Presently, about 13 percent of Georgia's high school teams use these caps during practice sessions.

Atlanta Falcons President Greg Beadles expressed pride in contributing to the growth of high school football: "We are honored to continue to play a role in fueling the growth of high school football throughout our state for young men and women." He emphasized the importance of ensuring a safe environment for participants.

Tim Scott, Executive Director of the Georgia High School Association, acknowledged the significant contributions from both the Falcons and the foundation: "The success and growth of Flag Football in the Georgia High School Association would not be possible without the support we receive from these outstanding organizations."

Georgia high schools will receive an interest form for grant applications on January 6, 2025.

The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation has supported numerous charitable causes since its inception by Arthur M. Blank in 1995. It focuses on various areas including youth development and mental health while managing a wide range of grants.

Meanwhile, the NFL Foundation is dedicated to improving lives through football-related initiatives that emphasize athlete wellness and community support across America.
