Rep. Mike Collins, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 10th district, has been vocal on social media regarding his legislative agenda and opinions on immigration enforcement. Collins, who took office in 2023 succeeding Jody Hice, has a background from Georgia State University where he graduated with a BA in 1990.
On February 2, 2025, Rep. Mike Collins announced plans to reintroduce legislation aimed at criminalizing intentional highway blockades at the federal level. He expressed concern over groups like "Hamas supporters" and others whom he referred to as "illegals and their enablers" for disrupting traffic. Collins stated that to ensure safety in America, there must be adherence to law and order: "I will soon reintroduce legislation to make blocking a highway intentionally a federal crime. First Hamas supporters, now illegals and their enablers, are stopping traffic. To make America safe again, we must have law and order."
Later that day, Collins tweeted about increasing export capacity for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He suggested having contacts who could provide additional trucks and semi-trailers if needed by ICE: "If @ICEgov needs some more trucks and semi trailers to increase export capacity, I know a guy." The tweet was posted on February 2, 2025.
