Henry County Parks & Recreation has formed a partnership with Creekside Christian Academy to enhance the school's athletic and STEAM programs. This collaboration was approved by the Henry County Board of Commissioners during their meeting on February 4.

Creekside Christian Academy, located in McDonough and Hampton, provides a Christ-centered educational curriculum for students at various levels. The school is committed to fostering a nurturing and collaborative environment.

"Our collaboration provides an opportunity for us to make a positive impact on the youth in the community," stated Jonathon Penn, Executive Director of Leisure and Public Services for Henry County. He also mentioned plans to work closely with Janna Szeto, Director of Development at Creekside Christian Academy, to offer athletic services and initiate a robotics program.

The partnership aligns with Henry County Parks & Recreation's mission to build strong community relationships and increase access to recreational facilities. Creekside Christian Academy aims to broaden its STEAM offerings through interactive learning experiences and diversify its sports field options.

Commission Chair Carlotta Harrell expressed appreciation for this new connection, highlighting its potential benefits for community development.

“Commissioners, thank you for helping us become a vibrant, innovative, connected and exceptional community,” added Jonathon Penn.
