Henry County Commission Chair Carlotta Harrell has been appointed as Vice-Chair of the I-75 Central Corridor Coalition, Inc. This appointment represents an important development for Henry County's participation on the coalition's board.

The I-75 Central Corridor Coalition was founded in 2018 to provide a platform for members, constituent communities, and the public to collaborate on the growth, development, and sustainability of the I-75 Central Corridor. Its membership includes local elected officials and community economic development partners from Georgia counties such as Butts, Clayton, Henry, Houston, Lamar, Macon-Bibb, Monroe, and Spalding.

Chair Harrell is recognized for her extensive experience and successful leadership in public service and community development. Her commitment to promoting economic growth and improving infrastructure aligns well with the coalition's objectives.

The coalition aims to integrate existing buildings and infrastructure using a smart growth approach that is fiscally responsible. This method seeks to create affordable neighborhoods that are desirable places to live and work. The vision is to make the I-75 Central Corridor one of the most walkable and transit-served corridors in the southern United States.

As Vice-Chair, Harrell will focus on advancing strategic initiatives that encourage regional collaboration, enhance transportation networks, and promote sustainable development along I-75. She aims to foster a more connected and prosperous region where all communities can benefit from growth and development.

Her leadership is expected to facilitate positive changes in Georgia's transportation system through collaboration with other coalition members.
