Rep. Mike Collins, currently serving Georgia’s 10th district in the U.S. Congress, has shared several statements on social media reflecting both historical events and his political views. Born in Jackson, Georgia, Collins graduated from Georgia State University in 1990 and has been representing his district since 2023.

On March 17, 2025, Rep. Collins commemorated a significant historical figure by noting that "On #ThisDayInHistory in 461, Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, died." He recounted how Saint Patrick was kidnapped at the age of 16 and spent six years as a slave before returning to Britain and eventually having a vision that called him back to Ireland.

In another statement on the same day, Collins expressed his stance on national economic policies by declaring "I’m proud to be America First." He criticized overregulation and high taxes for driving companies overseas but praised recent tax cuts and deregulation efforts by President Biden's administration as steps towards bringing businesses back to the United States.

Later that day, he made a remark involving another politician with a hint of humor: "I'd tell you to look for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow today, but I bet Senator Menendez got there first."
