Rep. Mike Collins, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for Georgia's 10th district since 2023, has recently communicated his views on certain national and historical events through a series of tweets. Collins, born in Jackson, Georgia in 1967 and a graduate of Georgia State University, shared his perspective on issues such as deportation, the Civil War, and public protests.

On April 11, 2025, Collins expressed approval of deportation policies with the statement, "Incredible news for people who like to see terrorist sympathizers deported." This reflects his stance on national security and immigration matters.

Reflecting on historical events, Collins tweeted on April 12, 2025, about a significant moment in American history. He stated, "On #ThisDayInHistory in 1861, the Civil War began when Confederate forces fired on Union-held Fort Sumter in South Carolina." Collins highlighted President Abraham Lincoln's response with the call for 75,000 troops, framing the narrative within a historical context.

On the same day, Collins addressed recent civil unrest in Denver, stating, "Protestors have taken over the streets of Denver. This is exactly why I introduced the Safe Passage on Interstates Act." He advocated for strict legal repercussions, concluding, "These people should be in jail, not on our highways. Lock them up."

Congressman Collins, representing Georgia's 10th district, replaced Jody Hice in 2023. He was born in Jackson, Georgia, in 1967.
